25 euro and 39 cent

Adopting the euro was easy for me. I spent all my money the night before.

I was living in Ireland at the time, as 2001 became '02.

The conversion rate was 0.787564 punts (pounds) to the euro, effective on the 1st of January 2002.

I was out drinking on New Year's Eve with some people whom I'd met, some of whom had become friends. I borrowed 20 pounds from the boyfriend of one of them.

I repaid him 25 euro.
