I am ashamed to be an American.
I admit, I've never been a patriot. I'm slightly antipatriotic by sentiment, and I admit that. So, I have an emotional predisposition to distrust my country, and to view its actions and sympathies with skepticism.
But this is something new. The United States is invading a sovereign country. On the thinnest of pretenses, my nation is going on an adventurous war.
It's sickening to me. I literally get physically uncomfortable and slightly disoriented when people talk about the situation in Iraq.
People expect me to have something to say for my country. I don't know what to say. I can't continuously express the degree of disgust and repulsion that I feel for the United States leadership and the illegal, immoral, and callous actions that it is pursuing.
