Ayaan Hirsi Ali as a heroine

Ayaan Hirsi Ali is indeed a victim of radical Islam.

She is a bit of a heroine, for her willingness to protest its effects.

But as a heroine, she has at least two principal flaws.

She has lied about significant points of her personal history, and she collaborated with Theo van Gogh to make the short film "Submission: Part 1."

The film is a snide ironic smear of the subjugation of women in fundamentalist Islamic practice. However correct it is in its insinuations, it is aggitation propaganda without artful nuance and without humor — and without respect.
