John S. Burnett calls the assassination of Denis Donaldson on April 4 in County Donegal "puzzling."

Brutal, yes. A cold-hearted murder, certainly political, as yet unsolved.

Donaldson, a high-ranking figure in the republican-army-affiliated Sinn Féin, admitted that for two decades he was a spy for the British.

Burnett would do well to qualify a descriptor like "puzzling."
