I don't understand when the bilingual ask "do you understand this" - in English, when I'm trying to listen.
There's almost always one — somebody who needs to know how much I know about what other people are saying, and must ask in the one language that I'm not trying to learn.
Intuitive thinking is broken, rhythm of comprehension disturbed — and all for a question that has no answer.
I get confused.... I don't know what to say....
It's a rude question in the wrong language.
