The value of "work" in America

Pay people to not work...

Here in America we exchange honorific platitudes about the value of work, and many of us define who we are by "what we do."

Many of us believe that full employment is our common goal.

Even people who beg often seem to feel that they have to beg for work — even though there's no need for everybody to have a job, and no future in large-scale human employment.
