The evolutionary advantage of Irish womens' lack of spatial awareness

I think that the reason that Irish women walk in public with such obliviousness is that this behavior allowed them to bump into men at a time when sexuality was brutally repressed by Irish Catholicism.

I think it's adaptive — it offered an evolutionary advantage.
