I have suffered from and am recovering from a powerful delusion.
I learned some mistaken reality-processing skills from infancy through childhood and into adulthood.
I learned that the church to which I belonged was the one true church.
I learned that the Bible was true, uniquely and wholly.
I learned that Jesus Christ was my savior, that I would be going to heaven as one of God's few chosen people — that everybody else would be lost. This knowledge was my sacred responsibility.
None of these teachings are based upon reality.
