Comparative culture

Titties across cultures

In Ireland and in my native Northwest United States, I subconsciously censor my behavior when I think about looking at a woman's body, as if it were not appropriate — which it is not.

I'd fear the embarrassment if caught paying attention, and I'd fear being made to feel disrespectful — and I'd fear *being* disrespectful, because that's kind of how it is, within these cultures.

In Romania, where I've vacationed and where I have friends, it's totally acceptable to look, and even to compliment a woman about her body, even about specific parts. If it's spoken in the form of a compliment, that's probably how she'll take it. It's great. It's like breathing easy.

Spain is alright, too.
