Some terms might not translate as well as you think they do....

Cânt — "Sing / play." One sings with one's voice, and plays an instrument.

Ce faci — "How are you doing?" / "What are you doing?" When someone asks "how are you doing," it's a simple greeting. It never means "what are you doing."

Negru... "Nigger" is one of the most offensive words in the English language. It is not a proper translation for negru.

Pentru nimic... "It's for nothing" translates, and makes the point, but isn't quite right. Better to say "it's nothing."

Învàţa — "Teach / learn." You cannot learn something to somebody — you must teach it. You can learn something from somebody....
