No hay periodicos en Central Oregon

Summer 2011 —

I returned to the US in May of 2011 after a decade away.

I can't find a Spanish-language newspaper in Bend, Oregon.

There are more than enough Hispanic-Americans here to support the sale of a few periodicos. (The 2010 census showed that 8.2% of the population self-reported as "Hispanic or Latino.") But I can't find one daily publication.

It's conspicuous that there seem to be no Spanish-language newspapers in the largest town in Central Oregon, a town of 81,000, in a region that now has an important hispanic population.
