Worried about America

18 September 2001

I'm worried about America now. I'm worried about what America will do.

I don't want to see the United States kill civilians. This is murder, and unacceptable.

Also, I want the United States to keep the amazing international goodwill that has become available since the tragedy of the attacks of September 11.

I am afraid that George W. Bush, clearly only too happy for the chance for war, is being handed the power to throw people away like gamepieces — and to murder civilians in other nations.

Last Friday was a national day of mourning in Ireland, and this country shut down. In wider Europe, it was apparently similar. America has a great opportunity. It is time for the United States to join the world. Please don't let this nasty little man have his "crusade."

I'm not antipatriotic—it's just that that's completely beside the point. I don't like to keep hearing about all these flags and cheering for "USA!"... But that's just me.

I don't know what I'm trying to acheive. Just expression — my favorite American freedom.
