We can surmise that Trump won 40% of the 2020 vote because that has been his level of support forever. But Trump got more than 40% - or, to put it another way, Biden got less than 60. Historians will discuss how to account for such a discrepancy, and will notice key features of Republican strategy in the equation. Crippled facilities, policy sabotage - and whatever in God's name else historians discover - all will help to ask the proper questions about the 2020 GOP interference with ballots that they'd calculated might oppose them.

Two and 1/2 years ago, my brothers started shouting me down for claiming to be hurt. Last week a neurosurgeon began the process of asking insurance coverage for surgery. Now Social "Security" declines (again, still) to help. Tomorrow Jeff and Doug are to visit, and Mom needs to talk about money. They'll want her to sell the house. They'll shout me down.

I'm getting my second Covid vaccine today. I feel good about it, but I don't know how it will affect my life. I don't go anywhere except shopping with Mom and to the doctors. The nerve compression in my neck limits my up-time severely. I'm supposed to get surgery some day, prognosis good. That would be strange, to be able to stay up and about for hours at a time.
