I'd been collecting material from building sites where I'd worked around Central Oregon. I had a quantity of lumber and OSB; 2x4's, 2x6's, some scrap beam, and the boards in 1/2" and 5/4".
That winter, I began on cold ground, setting a couple of pressure-treated skids at the top corner of the family property, parallel with a small incline and leveled. I'd get to the foundation later. I could't wait to get started, so I got started.
