Nobody celebrates hypertext, revolutionary

I notice that there is no "national hypertext-link week," even though the medium enables ways of writing not yet imagined.

That might be because reading with links is too much fun and therefore not worthy of commemoration; or it may be because this new form of writing and reading is just that — new. Too new. There's nothing to be sentimental about. The medium is nascent, not in decline.

And, by the way (as long as we're getting wistful,) what about the look, feel and smell of papyrus?
