Survival of the fittest

In hypertext

I'm learning to write in hypertext.

I know people who would say "I don't know anything about computers." But the computer is merely supportive of the medium.

The medium is linkable text.

Computers are great writing tools,* and the simplest features are the most powerful. Paper can be so cumbersome that some work is effectively impossible. Copy, cut, paste and "find" are devices of such incredible facility that they make writing a different activity — changed by an order of magnitude. The linkability of text is a platform that expands functionality by another order of magnitude.

It's entirely new, still, and in its simplicity it is revolutionary.
